Access tips and map
With driving distance of around an hour from Geneva and its international airport, Les Gets is easily accessible even for foreign visitors. From Geneva you take the A40/E25 highway which crosses the Franco-Swiss border. Then you drive all the way until the city of Cluses where you take exit 18 after which you will have around 25 km to reach Les Gets village in about 30 minutes depending on traffic.
Every time we skied in Les Gets, we preferred driving until the parking place in ‘Perrieres Express’ lift. It is the first you reach when you enter the village, is open air, free of charge and one step from ticket offices and chair lift. Alternatively, you may park closer to the village and ski domain’s center where you can easily return by skiing blue runs all the way down.

Les Gets ski station report
Most of its ski slopes are found between 1100 and 2000 meters and as a result you will mostly ski in the forest. Our favorite time for forest skiing is when it snows and in Les Gets we were lucky enough to experience this a couple of times.
Our favorite spot in Des Chavannes section is on top of La Rosta chair lift. From there you may take a black run usually with moguls, a red run or two easy blues that will warm you up for the rest of your day. In addition, the view on a clear sky day is really top as the horizon is filled with snow capped mountain peaks where the impressive Mont Blanc dome at 4,810 meters dominates the landscape.
Les Gets ski station review
PROS
- Close distance to Geneva international airport
- Nice ski domain with most runs in the forest
- Very lively villages with many apres ski options
- Good ski lifts in most areas
CONS
- Low altitude ski station that can suffer during warm winter days, which were almost the norm during 2019 and 2020 ski seasons)
- Can become overcrowded during high peak season
VERDICT
Forest runs, nice mountain views, a beautiful village and a bunch of options for lunch in the domain and après ski after your day in the mountain, is what you will get when visiting and staying in Les Gets-Morzine ski domain. On the flip side, low altitude and overcrowded ski runs can be a problem occasionally.
Valley run to Les Gets parking area (Perrieres express)
As we have not skied Mont Chery section, we can only tell you about the two valley runs to parking stations in Perrieres express lift and Les Gets village’s center. The latest can be reached by a number of blue runs, excellent for beginners or those who want a really relaxed way to finish their day.
Our favorite is the red run called Les Melezes (part of which you may view on the image above or video just below) that will take you to ‘Perrieres express’ base, a very wide forest run of around 2 km.
Neither way is very challenging, of course it all depends of your level, and although both are relatively short, they offer a great way to finish your ski day.
